Shorelines

Keep your feet on the ground
the blood in your hands
The quiet little things
no one ever knows

'cause you're worse than what they see,
dark clouds drifting, consuming
Keep your feet on the ground,
the blood in your hands,
quiet killers are we

I saw the reports of a lovers trust
neither clear nor descript.
Kept it safe and slow
till we reached the hospital nurse
upon the shoreline a drift
stained red with the suns' last wish

The beating hearts of lovers twined
forbidden love flowing red as wine.
I kept your blood on my hand as the nurses cried
shorelines and oceans long goodbye.

Keep your feet on the ground love,
don't leave me so far behind.
I kept a secret heart in the palm of my hand and sighed,
silent killers this world of love can be.

With every breath I'd give you life
but red lights remind me of my hands
and a death wish deep inside me.
Keep your feet on the ground
as you slip away to the beat of hearts
red flows down to puddles beneath unseen

If I don't know what to say in the end
there is a hidden message in secret love
every word so kept the cells red
in your hands and your feet;
keep one on the ground for me

....the hospital's near
can you hear the sirens cry
can you see the white coats
or the white light?
The hospital is near
....my dear?.....

Stars will cry tonight
moments I lived for long gone
just a ghost to the world am I
Needing this blood stain to fade away
so here I go, lift my feet off the ground!
I swear I wont miss a beat

I've cried at night one too many times for this stain to leave,
is it wrong of me to keep it?
The palm of my hand
trying to force it red into black
of my hearts dead corpse

Looking down this time the blood is mine
my feet left the ground
I lost my way
now I'd die just to find those anchors and shorelines

Time passes by to some place unknown
slow down your feet it will come to us soon
we're two lost souls swimming
in one giant fish bowl

Keep your feet on the ground,
the blood in your hands,
oh the quiet killers we don't know or see

Keep your feet on the ground,
the blood in your hands,
oh the quiet things we don't know or see
